Description:Often sold as a Russian Military binocular, though I'm not so sure. These binoculars are copies of the Zeiss Jenoptem that the Russians stole when they raided the Jena plant during the war. They are well made and fairly lightweight and often come complete with a set of amber filters. The view through these binoculars is great. Apart from the sepia tinge of Russian optics, the view is pin sharp throughout the FOV. The brightness is not quite as good as other 8X30's I have used, but is fairly respectable. Compared next to the 8X30 jenoptem the image is slightly sharper though not as colour accurate. This binocular, along with the Jenoptem suffer from stray light causing ghosting on bright images.
This binocular is still a wonderful little piece of German technology copied faithfully by the Russians.

Correction to my first review. Prisms are high index Bak4 and the image is somewhat yellow.
