Brand and Model: | Apogee Astro Chair |
Price ($USD): | 69.95 |
Type: | Chair |
Description: | Can you get a very nice astronomy chair for 70 bucks? The answer is yes, you can if you buy Apogee's Astro Chair. I recently purchased one of these, it is a very good chair at a very reasonable price. If you are new to astronomy and don't OWN a chair for observing - you should know that a chair of this type made a huge difference to my enjoyment, viewing stability, and comfort.
Construction: This chair is well constructed, with 7/8" (22 mm) tube steel main supports, and 5/8 (16 mm) secondary tube strengtheners. The seat is soft and comfortable
Dimensions: *Seat Height Adjustment: from 9" to 23" (22 to 58.4 cm). It's not going to get you up a dob, but it's great for my Nighthawk and 200LX. This is 10" shorter than some of the other chairs around. (which cost from $180 and up). This is no problem for me, I simply do not extend my scopes' tripod legs all the way.
*Seat Size 12.5" x 10" (33 x 25.4 cm)
*Folded size: 38.25 x 12.5" (97 x 33 cm)
So, if you're wondering if you really need a chair, STOP wondering and buy one. You'll wonder why you waited. If this chair is tall enough for your purposes, it is a good product at a good price. |
