In 8" f4.7 Newtonian stars were sharp to edge. Contrast excellent.
With glasses on could see entire field of view. With no glasses only minor kidney bean. Still easy to see entire field.
I compared this to an Orion Stratus 8 mm and although the Stratus has a nice view the Speers was nicer to look through.
I found the length of the eyepiece not to be an issue. I have an equatorial mount and it meant I didn't have to lean into the scope so much, thus was less apt to bump it while viewing. |
