Description: | This seven-element high power eyepiece includes a built-in Barlow to provide high magnification while maintaining reasonable (although still fairly short) eye relief for such a short effective focal length. It would not be the ideal eyepiece to use if you must wear glasses while observing, as it will vignette the field of view. Of course, the objects that need as much magnification as this eyepiece can provide are usually quite small. They would not fill the field in any case, so some vignetting might be acceptable in exchange for the eyepiece's other virtues. Contrast, for example, is very good, making the eyepiece an excellent choice for observing low contrast lunar and planetary detail. The contrast also helps small planetary nebulas stand out more cleanly against a darker sky background. Sharpness is quite good, a help in resolving globular clusters and splitting close binary star pairs.
