Antares Erfle (Wide Angle) 32mm
I am using a 12" F/4.93 Dobson and was very surprised with this eyepiece, edge didn't get soft until the last 2-3% some glaring when viewing bright objects eye positioning tricky at first but not near as bad as some eyepieces and well corrected for a erfle, for the price I would say it is better than most I picked mine up for $50 used.

I got this one at the Okie-Tex star party for $70. It was a steal. The FOV is very wide with some curvature in the last 5 degrees of the field. Purist would probably have sacrificed this to a field stop of some kind. I actually prefer the space walk illusion given by the extra field. I tested it next to a Nagler. The Nagler was slightly better in every reguard except price. If I was completly ignorant of namebrand eyepeices I would be willing to pay up to $25 more for the Nagler because of the views. This Antaries is a very good eyepeice if you are thinking of getting a bargian then do so with this eyepeice but only by looking through a selection of them first. Quality control is never as consistant in lower price eyepeices.

with Stellarvue 85L and SV102 EDT this is an better than average scanning eyepeice to find DSO (Deep Sky Objects, has fuzzy edges but for scanning wide fields it is better than average. The Koenig 40mm MX70 I have has a similar apparent field that is sharper farther out. For the F6.1 SV102 EDT the Erfle is good for lots of DSO work unless the object entirely fills the apparent field.
