Bays Mountain Astronomy Club
I am not currently a member of this club, but have visited in the past. The Bays Mountain site is a great place for an astronomy club, even though there is a lot of light surrounding the park (Kingsport has a lot of industry). I recommend going up in the morning, spending the day walking the trails, looking at the animal exhibits, the planetarium (highly recommended), have a picnic, tour the lake by boat, enjoy solar viewing at the observatory, and then spend the evening talking astronomy with knowledgable amateurs who share your passion... it is all there for you at Bays Mountain.
