Mercury
On a vacation trip to Mauritius, sept. 30'th 2000, I saw a conjunction of the Moon, Venus, Mercur and Spica on a vertical, slightly curved line starting with the moon at apr 25-30 degrees above the horizon at sunset, and ending with Spica close to the horizon.

The sky blackens very rapidly that close to equator (20dgr. south).
So, after half an hour Mercury was still apr 12-15 degr above the horizon in complete darkness, and remained observable more that 1.5 hrs after sunset.

I was only doing visual observation at the time.
What struck me as most fantastic about the situation was the luminosity of Mercur, which was aproaching Vega.
(all this was later on confrimed by me running a simulation in the astro-programme ; Red Shift)

This observation of Mercur was a far cry from the few, faint and elusive visuals I have done on Mercury here in Norway at 60 degr. north.
