M57 is GREAT in my XT10 at 416X, even with the not-to-good stock 9mm eyepiece and a camera 3X teleconverter. What's really fun is PGC62532/IC1296, a couple of galaxies right on top of each other (mag. 14.8) right next to M57. I think I finally saw it last night (9-8-02) with averted vision while tapping the tube (139X).

I read what this was first. (A sun about the size of our own sun, that burned out about 25000 years ago, and left this smoke ring if you will with a tiny white dwarf in its center) Although I don't have enough appeture to nail the white dwarf, it just blew me away when I first saw it. Aint nature wonderful?

Ring Nebula
Very satisfying deepsky object that for once lives up to it's name. Not as bright as experienced observers may describe it but relativly easy to find in scopes above 4".At x80 in my 8"SCT it is unmistakable as the textbook doughnut.

Very nice object. It will elude you if you look with binoculars. Use a nice medium power piece to locate it at the edge of Lyra (I used 50X). Don't expect a whole lot more than a nice round white wisp in a scope smaller than 4". My C102HD (4" refractor) at 154X just started to begin to show the donut center. At any rate very exhilarating to see such a fantastic object!
