Whoever answered the phone had an incredibly sour attitude, giving me one-word answers. I got the impression I was somehow bothering him. Take a bow, Company 7, for such lousy service. I took my business somewhere else.

While the technical expertise and quality of equipment offered are unquestionably of the highest quality, I have not enjoyed my experiences with this vendor. My initial purchases were small and the merchant made me feel like I was imposing on him.

Some people may be put off by Company 7's attitude. You may think that your are not a valued customer because the majority of their business if from government contracts but, you do count.

I dropped my C-90 (my travel scope) and totally messed is up. I took it to Company 7 and gave it to Marty. Marty told me 6 Weeks. 6 weeks turned into 10. I may not have been a high priority and he told me that when I dropped off the scope but, I am a valued customer. When I received the scope 10 weeks later, Marty said he promised me 6 weeks and that is not the way they do business, so the repairs were free.

All the things everyone else says are true. But these guys are also incredibly arrogant. It can really turn off a newbie. Also, they should loose the sandals w. dark socks look :-)

That said, I purchased a TV85 there and am a satisfied customer.

The gentleman I spoke with did not disclose the type of sandals he was wearing, so I am not exactly sure who I was talking to. However, I wish more places like this existed. He was patient and understanding in given me advice, candid about the short comings of a particular mount offered with a Chinsese Mak, spoke honeslty regarding telescope performance and expectations.

Bottom line - C7 is a total asset to the industry. Can't say enough good things hear.

This isn't a company, it's really a club, once you've bought something,
you're in. They do quality control on most OTAs (call and ask for details
or visit their web site). That doesn't mean you get "the best" but they do
weed out dogs. My C14 is excellent and has attracted favorable comment from a
wide range of would-be detractors at star parties.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from Company 7 over the years, and have been very pleased with the quality of the service they offer. It is absolutely true that they do not have the lowest prices, but if you value the quality of customer service, this shouldn't be an issue. You can expect and get honest advice from them and no pressure to close the deal. They do tend to sell medium to high-end products which would appeal to the "serious" amateur, though I bought my first scope from them years ago after chatting with them for literally hours over a few visits on the trade-offs between different alternatives.
