Been there in person and met the owner, tough to find on a countryroad but their warehouse really does exist! Also mailorder. Great prices, always more in stock than he can possibly advertise so you might be surprised by an "off the wall" inquiry to them. Where else could you get 3" Zerodur blanks to make optical flats for $5 a piece! As stated elsewhere, mainly military or in other ways surplus materials. Pleasure to deal with by mail, and friendly enough to let you "kick the tires" if you stop by the store.

Surplus Shed
Excellent service. Received eyepieces two days after placing the order. Some imoerfections in the coating on my 35mm Rini Erfle, but does not appear to affect performance (and not bad for a $28.00 5 element 35mm EP)

Surplus Shed
Surplus shed have supplied me with a number of items in the past, notably Paul Rini Eyepieces and various achromatic lenses. Delivery was efficient (to the UK) and the goods were excellent value. My 35mm Rini Erfle eyepiece (one of a set of 4 I purchased) is still one of my all time favourites. It cost peanuts!

Surplus Shed is a goldmine of useful optical components at prices that are a real surprise. Perfect for the serious experimenter.

Surplus Shed
I have ordered several eyepieces and lens kits from Surplus Shed with no real complaints. They almost always ship the order so that it arrives very quickly. I have recieved a few surplus lenses with slight nicks or chips, but that can be expected when you are ordering a $100 lens for $6 a piece. The Rini eyepieces are one of the best deals out there. This company mainly deals in optical components and mirrors, many of which are unused and surplus military items.
