I have purchased 2 scopes from Barry at D&G. I have found him and them to have the highest professional standards. They also don't give you unrealistic deliveryy dates. I recomend them highly.

D & G Optical
In most any purchase, you can choose any two of the following three objectives: cheap, fast, good. In the case of D&G optical, you get cheap and good, but not fast. The word among the cognicenti in astronomy, is that a lens or telescope from D&G is worth the wait, no matter how long and that a similar product (achromat) from most any other source isn't worth having, by comparison. There are exceptions, but I've found this to be true. I own a matched set of 6" f/15 lenses from Barry Greiner (owner of D&G) and presently have a matched set of 8" f/12 nearing completion. Expect to wait the better part of a year, but there's no rushing perfection, so don't even think about it. Barry's work is definitely out there, making lots of astronomers happy campers and not usually found for sale except once every month or so I see one on astromart and they tend to sell quickly. My two lenses are superb and from what I've heard from other D&G owners, Barry simply doesn't let anything out the door unless it's virtually perfect. The prices are actually cheap, cheap when you consider the quality. If you have room for a long scope and love lunar, planetary, nebular and general viewing, just order the biggest and largest you can handle and afford and call it good enough -- then, share the universe! After that, you don't even have to fill it up with gas to make it run! Photons are tax-free and environmentally friendly, too.
