Hoon has great prices and my scope was delivered within 2 days of payment. He answered all my questions promptly. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend him to anyone purchasing a telescope.

I posted an ad on astromart seeking more counterweights for my GP mount. Hoon responded to my ad, stating he had a quantity of 4 - 4lb weights which I could have for FREE!!!!., but I would have to pay for shipping of the 16 lbs of weight via UPS. I received the weights, and had to pay only $22 for the shipping. The weights were brand new, CG5 style, and in perfect condition. How could you not give the guy a 10 for this.......

I found nothing negative about Hoon whatsoever. Tthe negative ratings about Hoon are from people that have no idea how to buy products by mail order. When you ask the questions, Hoon will answer. Yes he does sell scopes with optics "made" by the same people who make optics "for" Vixen. This is the same claim made by Antares and a few other dealers of Skywatcher products. The Vixen optics are an option at a 30% or more premium. Hoon's prices seemed really low so I asked if the objective was adjustable. I was told that they weren't but he (Hoon) inspects and adjusts the lens in each scope. True or false, I couldn't say but my 102mm f/9.3 Telehoon scope was as sharp as other scopes I've seen of this type. Hoon answered all my questions and even payed the shipping charge (until I could send him a cheque) when there was a problem with my courier account. Hoon was always helpful and actually did some down selling when I asked about the 120 but also wondered about portability. No problems at all here.

I have dealt with Mr Hoon a number of times. I have found that he is courtious,responds very quickly, and very honest in all my dealings. I have purchased a Skywatcher 6" refractor, and what he told me about the scope's optics was very accurate and verified in my own personal testing. This was the best 6" synta scope I had seen. Just recently I was contemplating purchasing a Vixen made 83mm Research grade objective lense, to replace a chiipped lense in my SP C80. he tested out and told me the lense was good, but not any better then the synta lense he had (this was a lense on his return item page, thus I did not purchase the lense, and definetly not better then my Vixen lense I all ready owned. if the man was dishonest he could of sold me a bill of goods on that lense, and I would have purchased it, but he did not. Everyone has a horror story of dealing with a buisness, but it appears there are many more positives about Hoon, then the one negative I have read. Bob Midiri

It actually made me sad to read the negative comments about HOON. I have never dealt with a more helpful, fair business. I know nothing about the semi-apo that others have mentioned, but I have done a lot of online searching for good prices and service for the types of products sold by HOON, and I say he can't be beaten. His email responses to me were complete, informative, and fast. He may not post his prices, but he always responds within a day to emails about them, and I have yet to find a lower price on any item I've asked him about. He has delivered the items I've ordered quickly and safely. He has never been anything but polite.

GoTo the "telescopes" section herein, and read about the famous, Hoon Semi-ED 120 scope. I have openly offered my Email and full name to anyone seriously interested, yet no one bothers. Why then, do you come to a site such as this? Do you actually believe all the glowing recommendations while ignoring the bad?

This behavior is uncharacteristic of minds of science.
