The product I ordered was the 10" PDHQ dobsonian. When I ordered the telescope I was told that it would ship in two weeks, maybe three. It finally shipped in a little over two MONTHS. I called several times, usually early in the week, and each time I was told that it would ship by the end of the week, and each time it didn't ship. My major issue with them is that they don't seem to have the slightest idea when the product will ship. The sales man was curtious (although clueless with regards to shipping) and helpfull with other questions I have had since delivery. I recieved the product undammaged. Overall, I think the product is well worth the price.

I guess I should consider myself lucky. I ordered two matched 12.5" f/6 mirrors, promised in 45 days. I wanted a matched set for a binocular telescope. I requested no more than 3/8 inch difference in focal length. They were delivered in 3 months. I figured the 45 day estimate was optimistic, and was very pleased with the products. The focal length difference was 1/2 inch however, but did not make much difference. They perform beautifully in the scope. They are full 2" thick, however, so be prepared for a heavy mirror if you order the pyrex. The optical quality and coating quality are both very satisfactory. The price was outstanding, way below any body else out there.
Customer service not quite perfect, but I got a real bargain and have a killer telescope as a result. Remember that a scope with an excellent mirror will be used for a lifetime, so be patient and give these guys a break.

I ordered a 12.5", F6 primary and a 2.14" secondary mirror set. After being told it would take a month and a half, I was a little reluctant to order, but decided to take the plunge.

The total amount of time I waited in the end was unacceptable - 4 months.

While the optics seem to be of excellent quality, the service needs a lot of work.

I'm very happy with my 10" PDHQ which arrived after 5 weeks, as they promised. They were also very friendly and helpful; and gave me some modifications on the basic design and extras free of charge. The scope is great, both optically and mechanically.

A telescope shop in Canada ordered a 12.5" DHQ a little bit over a year ago and they still din't get the scope. Discovery's keep promising that it's going to ship within 2 weeks. Promises, promises, promises...

I purchased a DHQ 10 F4.5 with the
pyrex upgrade and a telrad. Scope arrived
on time. I had to call about collimation
and they were very helpfull. I would
recommend them to anyone. I am very happy
with the images. The only modification
I made was to add three 14" extension
legs to raise the scope up.

I have the 17.5 inch sonotube dob. Worth the money and worth the wait. Very big dob, easy collimation and two man setup. Rugged and solid design

My situation is a little different in that I bought a used 6" Discovery dob on eBay and it was damaged in shipping. I've been calling Discovery as I get this thing fixed and in working order, and my impression is that they have bent over backwards to see that I have a usable working telescope. Bill Larsen answered my emails and customer support has varied from incredibly knowledgeable to garden-variety tech support. But the fact they've stuck with me when I didn't buy a thing from them, makes me believe this company will stick with you when things are tough. Was impressed.

Ordered an eyepiece package from them. Included 6.5mm and 15mm EP's. 6.5mm was just too small for me to use, so I called them up and asked to exchange for a 40mm EP. No problem, send it back. They sent me the 40mm the next day w/o waiting for me to send back the 6.5. I appreciated that and told them so when I returned the 6.5.

The EP's are Brand X Plossls, so I didn't have great expectations. They work ok.

Really attached to my DHQ-8 Dob.

Will do business again with them.

Discovery's service was very good - except for their delivery time which in my case, was almost twice the time they originally quoted me. Otherwise, their products seem to be real bargains for the price.
