Adorama
Adorama may have excellent prices, but they drag their feet to ship out your order.

I ordered on Saturday, with Monday being a Holiday, and they did not ship out until late Wednesday. Their 3-day UPS Select service did not benefit me, as I did not receive my order until the following Monday.

In total, it took 9 days from ordering to receiving (New York to Chicago.) This time lag could have been substantially reduced if they valued customer attention.

Also, their shipping and handling prices are way overpriced. There's no value in paying 2-3x more in shipping over the competition to get your order 9 days later.

Rquested a price quote from their web site for Fujinon binoculars, received a response almost immediately. Lowest price by far. Ordered them the next day, was promised 3 day delivery. Received them at 1:30 PM, the thrid day. Arrived in perfect condition. A very straight forward transaction. Now if it would only stop raining...

Just bought a Thousand Oaks Olll and their own brand of planetary filters (set). Prices are the lowest by far (they offer an additional 7% discount when ordering 2 or more filters and that's from already low prices) and shipping was next day for far less than others charge. Simply can't be beat!

Price on new eyepiece was the best I could find. I ordered
from the website, got price with shipping included. The
eyepiece showed up a week later without problem. I would
use again.

I wasn't looking for information other than availability and price on two items. After getting swithched to two different people my order was placed and sent on its way. Their price was the best, and the packaging was very good. Order was received as promised. I was impressed and will order from them again. The rude person at Astronomics even told me to "you should order from them" when I asked them to compete with the price on an eyepiece. This was after spending a couple of thousand dollars at Astronomics in the last year.

I have ordered numerous items from Adorama during the last 15 years. I have found their prices to be excellent, and service good. They can be a bit abrupt on the phone, but they also have an optics expert onsite, who you can consult with if you need to. The sales people can be a bit abrupt at times.
The last item I purchased from them in a pair of 11 x 70 binoculars that I purchased last year. The price/quality ratio is unbeatable (it's sold under their name), and delivery was very fast.

I just recieved a C-8 DLX, and some accesories from Adorama. I did all my shopping online and ordered by phone. THE BEST PRICES and reasonable shipping. Advice: MAke sure you know exactly what you want inside and out, have a price that you are willing to pay in mind, and ask if they can beat it. I got them to lower their total price with shipping by just asking if they could give me a better deal than was listed on their own website, which was the lowest to begin with! My only problem is that they have very limited customer support hours and short period/strict exchange policy. But, when I did get through on the phone they took care of me promptly. I will definitely order from them again.
