Description:A classic tube amplifier that was originally available in kit form. It was available throught out the 60's and into the mid 70's. It was manufactured by David Hafler's (who later founded Hafler) company Dynaco. It uses a classic configuration of 6CA7/EL34 tubes to provide around 30W per channel. These are very common today and have a large cult following. Most parts are still available and lots of "tweekers" have found success with this amp. A great way to break into tube audio!

Excellent quality for low bucks... I paid $150 for one with pooped out tubes and after replacement with groovers, it is really very awesome for a P/P amp.

Find good 7199s at small town TV shops for a few bucks each.

That has to be the only real drawback is the lack of "new" 7199s.

The sovteks are rebased and sound just OK.

The board changeover to 6DJ8s (i think) I haven't heard but looks promising.

It drives my Bozak Concert Grands like my McIntosh MC2105 did.
