My new Denon D-F100mC with Mission M71 speakers (5-1/2" woofer) blow this system away at 1/2 the price. Spatial imaging and depth of sound stage is far superior with the 2 Mission speakers, and the solidness and depth of the bass blows the Bose away. Clean electronics with reserve power are far more capable than the Bose electronics. The Bose system has been sent to auction.
The biggest difference is the music. The Bose never sounded like anything but a TV set reproduction of an orchestra - no depth, no timbre, no definition - just little tv set speakers and a boomy mid-bass woofer. Old technology and a consumer rip-off. If you want small, look into B & W 601 S3, KEF Q1, AR 15, Tannoy, Mission. ALL will clobber this system and be almost as small.

Listened to Jbl, Yamaha, Infinity, sony, etc. Still liked the am-15 the best clean notes and clean bass. Also a 5 year warranty from the factory.

I have just bought an AM15 and i am very happy with it's performance. Although i agree with a lot of the reviews that say it is expensive and you can get better for for less £.I have quite a small living room and anything bigger than the bose would make my room look like a hi fi shop, so i ask can you get a better system that is a not a lot bigger?.

I just purchased a the Bose Acoustimass 15 set and I must say that it sounds good but not worth the price. I paid $765.00 for them because I work for a retailer that carries them and after having them for one week I returned them.
They were not worth the $765.00 that I paid so DO NOT go out and pay the asking price of $1200.00! This set should sell for around $500.00 to the general public. You are paying for the name and to make yourself look good to your friends. I since purchased the JBL S38 for the front, the S26 for the rear and a JBL S center channel. I also purchased the PB10 sub and it BLOWS AWAY the AM-15's!!!!!! It also came out to a bit cheaper for me. Bose is a freat set of speakers if you are 65 years or older and sitting on your patio listening to elevator music. As for pure, true and loud with little distortion go with the JBL's.

I use these speakers with YAMAHA RX-V800 and DVD-796 player, well the movie soundtracks and live concerts in DD and DTS are fantastic ! 10 pts. for that ! There is no doubt that this system is the best choice when You look for space-save speaker system. In stereo reproduction I prefer to use my old Audio Physic Tempo speakers, BOSE just don't seem to be good for this. 6 pts for Stereo

10 pts. for DVD movies & concerts in 5.1
6 pts. for stereo
------------------------
8 pts. overall

I work at a major A/V retailing chain store where we have the opportunity to setup satelite systems side by side with immediate switching for our customers. There has not been a single time that a customer has chosen the bose setup over an Infinity or JBL satelite system hooked up with a real sub. Funny thing is, the other systems, including a true 12" amplified sub, would come in at $200-$400 less than the Bose. All of you who think that your Bose setups sound great...Why don't you ask yourself why they never publish their frequency response specs. I'll say it again for the masses. Bose = no highs, no lows.

I bought this because it is small and easy to blend into my living area. The sound is good, but bass control can be a problem. My sub had to be installed in a corner, which made bass "boomy" even with the lowest setting. I have since upgraded receivers which helped me reduce the problem, but the sub seems to still work a little harder than the rest of the system.

I wouldn't buy it again, as there are more similarly size products now to choose from, but I do enjoy the system!
