This is perhaps the best buy around in home theater speaker systems. Originally $2,500 list, Carver is selling them for $1,500 on their web site. I got them for $699 at Costco. You can order them from costco.com for $699 + $132 shipping and tax depending on your state. I have 30 days to return them, but you'd have to rip them out of my cold, dead, fingers.

They are extremely well built, solid, and all components are of the finest materials. Connectors are great, with just about any option available (amp, pre-amp, receiver, bi-wiring, etc.).

As for the sound, it is awesome! The 300-watt high quality subwoofer amp knock out tight, deep bass, while my receiver handles the other 5 channels. Get a low impedance, high current amp/receiver that can handle 4 ohms to get the best sound. I'll treasure these for decades. This speaker system is perhaps the best deal for any electronics purchase I have ever made. Don't even think about comparing Bose with them. No contest, Carver wins hands down for much less. The center channel is very good, and the dipole towers are superb and well matched. The dipole surrounds are very good, but can't match the towers when the output is equal to all channels (usually not the case in Surround modes). What can you expect, they hang from the wall.

Music sounds excellent, without the usual gap between subwoofer bass and satellite mids/highs found in most systems. The subwoofers go up to 150hz, and can be tailored in many ways. The bass tilt feature is unique and effective.

My wife loves them, primarily because they are striking to look at. Black cabinets and sleek styling. She was amazed when she entered our home theater area.

I combined this speaker system with the Harman Kardon AVR75. I bought the receiver from onecall.com for $598. This high current amp blows away anything else under $1,000. Yamaha, Denon, and Onkyo compare only at prices well above $598.

I'll put my $1,300 combo against any other receiver/speaker combo. I highly recommend this configuration.

Hi, I'm from Ottawa Canada. I just purchased the Carver 5.2. I can say that i'm realy impressed with Carver 5.2 system.
