Fine sounding floorstanders. Clear highs and mids. Somewhat light on bass but a subwoofer will take care of that issue. Biwiring didn't seem to make any difference. Overall a good speaker but for the same price, the Magnepans and Martin Logans will beat this speaker for midrange and detail.

Oil can sound at premium prices. Look elsewhere !!!

Bass is lacking, midrange sounds like a tin can, highs are ok but not very revealing. The 800 series are the only series of B&W worth listening to.
In the price range of the 600 and CDM Series, much better speakers can be had from Paradigm, NEAR, DynAudio, etc.

I bought a CDM CSE centre speaker last week and just auditioned a pair of CDM 7SE compared with the swiss made PIEGA ribbon based and B&W nautilaus(?) series speakers. I just bought the CDM 7SE's because quality vs price was very good.

My goal is to buy a Yamaha A1 amp and another two CDM 7SE's.

I see martin also has his eye on this idea!

Auditioned LOTS of speakers and found these to be extremely clean, accurate and having strong presence without being overly bright. Bought them and hooked them up to high-end 100 watt/channel receiver(no amplifier debates here). They are used primarily for classical and soft rock music, and the clarity and tone of instruments and vocals are excellent. One can listen for a long time without fatigue, and hear things not previously known to be on the cd. Do not know about extreme volume levels, but they perform well at both low and moderate levels. Bass is a bit more balnced as volume comes up from quiet listening, and is clean at all levels. Plus they look great in red ash finish.

Fantastic!

I have 4 of these along with the B&W CDM CSE centre speaker, and 2 REL Q100Es hooked up to my HT setup, driven by a Yamaha DSP-A1.

These speakers are (in my opinion) absolutely fantastic, the bass is simply amazing. I've turned the volume up to around about 2/3 on the DSP-A1, and the speakers have remained clear and unclipped.

Generally I like to play my music loud, and they can more than cope. When playing softer, quieter music with my girlfriend, they also sound really good at these low volumes.

Awsome pair of speakers. Very musical and great for HT as well. Base extension is unbelieveable. Likes to be played loud. Definately worth the money.

Just voted and won't skew the rating with a double entry. However, noted no price was given and can advise: List price is US$ 1800/pr, and typical discount from local dealer seems to be 10%.
