Description: | These are relatively unknown, but absolutely exceptional speakers. Think of them as "Magna-Static" hybrids because they have push-pull driven membranes inside of magnetic fields created by permanent magnets instead of electrical stators which eliminates the need for one of the weaknesses of electrostatics which is that your amplified signal has to go through a transformer. It seems this has improved to where it is no longer a big problem in electrostatic designs, but still adds additional processing to the signal and also is many times harder on your amplifier. This speaker is very revealing and lean in the fake bass dept. It takes loads of good power to drive at realistic levels, but rewards with nuances you may have never knew existed in your music. Company owner/product designer Bruce Thigpen is quick with e-mail responses and super nice also. Seek out this speaker and give it a listen. I believe you can not help but be impressed. |
