There are better speakers for the price, but the advantage is that these are widely available and make a good cinemaset

Great sounding very clean, you loose the box if you close your eyes. The base is not rocking but play a good disc and its there

Not great but very good speakers, especially with 600USD only!
Treble is bad, however, mid-bass and bass are tight, smooth and strong. Well done job B&W!
Obviously, you need 02 stands, in order to get fulllenght of sound!
Strongly recommended if you're willing to enjoy music with an small amount of money!

Got these because of name and a great audtion. No bi-wiring, using Adcom 100 watt amp. They are good, but a little bright. I have hardwood floor. They are on Lovan stands. Recommend them for carpeted rooms and Jazz/Classical only.

B&W DM 602 S2
Great speaker for the price, open sounding, dynamic, detailed and musical.
Best partnered with warm/smooth sounding amp and cd-player.
In large rooms add an active subwoofer (B&W, REL).

With the right power supply and bi-wiring utilized, this is probably the best speaker to be had for the price (sans any used deals that you may find). I listened to this pair running on a Denon AVR3600DTS (which delivers 110W/channel) using Monster M1.4SML bi-wire speakerwire with a Denon DVD-300 as the audio source with Precision Interconnect. First off, the middle range spectacular. Like my bookshelf Shahinian's (Super Elfs), the mid-range is full and wide and creates a much broader soundstage that your ears probably have only heard from the likes of Definitive, JMLabs or others of that caliber. The upper octaves are, through the help of the Nautilus tweeters I suspect, extremely sharp but more defined than the previous model. As for the low end, this speaker, with proper placing and power, may save you time on buying that sub. There is plenty of punch at the lower level and it runs quite deep for it's rating.

Asthetically, I have yet to see a better designed bookshelf for the money (and even then, it's B&W afterall). The bullet cap on the gold Kevlar driver is all business - so svelte and well designed that the first thing you need to do is lose the grilles. The construction is precise, the connects on the back are gold plated and bi-wire capable. On the right stands, this is the kind of speaker that you want to show off. A complete conversation piece, acoustically AND visually.

Much like the bookshelf offerings from Atlantic Technologies and Paradigm, this is a great bargin for the audio buyer who wants a speaker to do music and movies with equal quality.

For HomeThreater Use, which is better between 602 S2 and NHT super one ? Super One's sensitivity only get 86db while B&w 602 S2 get 90db, so will the loudness of super one be smaller than 602 S2 ? I am using Sony STR-828 with 100W per channel. Pls give me comment by email ryosaeba00@yahoo.com
Thank You

These sound a lot better than the pricier cdm1se's. They image a lot better, and have superior frequency separation. Do not buy the cdm1se's over these unless:
You are a poser,
Have excess money to burn,
Buying them for the sake of aesthetic appeal.

Does anyone know how these speakers compare to the CDM 1SE's. Both my amp (500) and my cd are Harman Kardon (730). Should I stick to the 602's or wait and save 'till I can buy the CDM 1's?
