I found that closing the port would increase and tighting the best i've used a sock to plug it but it just comes right out when playing loud music but the best thing you could use to plug it up and dampen the sound is to put your PENIS in the port hole.

Very clean sounding. I use it as part of a home theater setup. I wanted speakers that were at home with video as well as audio only applications. These fit the bill quite well. However, I agree with most of the reviews here in that a subwoofer is definitely required ( I have the REL).

Does anyone know how these speakers compare to the 602 S2's. Both my amp (500) and my cd (730 are Harman Kardon. Should I stick to the 602's or wait and save 'till I can buy the CDM 1's?

Imaging very wide and detailed. Must match with a subwoofer if you want
absolute enjoyment. Bi-Wireing required.

Adding a subwoofer to this speaker and you've got yourself quite a speaker system for under $2000. I purchased an ACI Titan sub and the CDM1 is a relatively easy speaker to integrate it with. I find the CDM1's imaging and soundstage to be distinct and wide. If you can do without all the bass (and even then, the speaker has pretty impressive output for its size), it's a fine speaker; ideal for small listening rooms.
