Paradigm PS-1000
I live in a huge loft on the third floor of a very old building and the Paradigm PS-1000 has enough low end to rattle things on the first floor. An award winning sub,it not only challenges, but blows any larger wannabe away. Honestly, I have never had this thing at 12 o'clock on the dials (volume or phase shift) because around 10 o'clock for music and movies is plenty. You would have to have things up pretty high for distortion I would imagine. Simply put, it is a feature rich sub that you can't go wrong with. In my opinion, it is probably more sub than most people need if you have any neighbors that live in close proximity. Me, I haven't had to worry.

Out performed Subs which were bigger and more expensive. Find a retailer which carrys this and test it for yourself! It did take a while to figure out what to set the phase shift at.
