Set out to buy the Sony DVP-S7700, but purchased this player instead. I'm sure glad I did. Picture and audio from this unit are flawless. The best piece of equipment i've purchased.

The DVD-5000 is great! It has everything I want in a DVD player like the composit video out to hook drirectly into my front projection unit for a great picture.

Wow. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is that, from what I've been reading, the new DVD-Audio from Pansonic will be at a higher kHz rating than the 96kHz the DVD 500 supports. But, then again, no other current DVD player supports DVD Audio yet, either.

I bought the DVD 5000 a week ago and I love it. First I bought the Sony DVP-S500D but felt the picture was to soft. Also it did'nt support DTS. I took
it back and bought the Denon DVD-3000. It had a much better picture and sounded
much better but I still felt it was lacking. I took it back and bought the
Denon DVD 5000. I am compleatly satisfied. A true 10
