This is my first DVD Video player. Every thing was normal I mean was perfect for the first time but after one month Device started to proceed one message randomly on the screen I don't know why but displaying FLASH SUM message on the screen . While the message is blinking on the screen no front panel and remote operation available. I have send the several message to the technical center of the Pioneer Corp. Nobody has told me the reason . Now device working sometimes normal sometimes like described above. I have very disappointed with this device.

Started off happy with the machine, then began to notice an audio "lip sync" problem on certain discs. Then read the acknowledgment and subsequent apology by Pioneer about the problem in an English Home theatre mag. Unacceptable. Am in the process of researching other machines to do a swap job.

My first DVD player but I'd say this is fine. Nice looking, too.
I have no DTS discs yet, so cannot comment on that, but probably it will
sound at least as well as DD. Picture is clear and makes me long for a
wide-screen TV...

This unit is among the first to have Dts capability. It's the very first here in europe (the new panasonic is not out yet). I haven't been able to compare this unit with others but have found no flaws in it. I like the small extra features as "conditional memory" (remembers your favorite picture/sound settings for up to 30 DVD's) and "last memory" that saves the position you have reached in the movie. next time you pop it in it recognizes the disk and lets you continue where you left off.
Picture is clear in both NTSC and PAL. Region programming is done easily via the remote.
Only drawback: it makes you crave for a bigger screen to get the most out of the beautiful picture.

I bought this DVD in december and I am very happy with this unit, but I have one question.
How can I change the region code, becouse now is Zone 2 but I would like convert it to Zone 1 and if is possible to multizone....
