Onkyo TX-SV555
I got the DS555, and I think it is basically the same as the SV555. It has equal power to all channels, multi room capability, and 2 digital coaxial and 1 digital optical inputs. It ROCKS! Great channel separation! Clean sounding amp! Shitty remote! All the buttons look the same and are very small and not even a fourth of an inch apart, but the remote doesn't affect the receiver's performance.
All the DSP settings actually do something, and the midnight theater mode is excellent. It enhances the clarity at low listening levels. I really appreciate the 6-channel input so I can upgrade to DTS later. You have to turn the volume knob to the 9:00 position before you can hear anything, but I don't think that matters. It's pretty complicated to opperate, but it sounds great. I got it for $454 at Uncle Stereo shipped (unclestereo.com). I think I made the best purchase possible for my price level and for many price levels above mine.
