It works well with my high end speakers, Xanadu dm 14MKII, better than it did with the sublime Driade D81MKII, very smooth and complete sound, transparant and fair three dimentional image. A bid dry on the bass, but my Keff sub makes it very musical, the mid is good and on the high end I do not have any complaint.
Lots of power, 5 times 115 watts, whatever, it could do with less, but it is atill there (handy if you live in a big space loft)
Yours, Mike Werkhoven

Radio is difficult to use. COAX 5.1 inputs are intemittent. Power amp is a bit weak, not much low end.

Problem with white noise coming from center channel only became an issue after 1.5 years of use.

Tremendous sound!. Bass and treble settings can't be done from the remote, along with a few other adjustments I'd like to have on the remote. But for the money, there is no peer.

This makes me former "top of the line" ($500) Kenwood sound like a phonograph.

Down right best. Highend sound makes everything sound better including my speakers.
Buy it!
I found it for less than $700 at a store.

Have owned it since June 2000. Performs great , very pleasedI guess the 7 rating is because I know that there is better stuff out there , albeit at a much higher price point.

Onkyo TX-DS777
great reciever. no hiss or humm. one minor problem is that when you turn the subwoofer on. the reciever cuts bass to the front main speakers. i like the bass that my mains produce, & dont like losing it because i choose to add a sub. other than that, it's a great reciever.
