Description:Featuring the newest Analog Devices SHARC 32-bit DSP processor, the AVR-3300 provides Dolby Digital and DTS decoding

with superb precision. The AVR-3300 is the most affordable A/V component to include the SHARC processor as the heart of the

DDSC-D technology, and features premium 24-bit, 96 kHz DACs on all output channels. Prepared for the future, the AVR-3300 fea-tures

8 Channel external input, for connection to future multi-channel surround formats, along with 8 pre-amp outputs, providing a

full upgrade path. A high quality, discrete power output section provides a total system power of 525 watts RMS into 8 ohms.

In addition to providing five pairs of composite and "S" video inputs, the AVR-3300 is equipped with two sets of component video

(Y, CB, CR) inputs (DVD and TV/DBS), and one set of component video outputs for connection to high resolution video displays.

Dual Surround Speaker switching allows the use of two different types (and placements) of surround speakers - connect a pair of

diffuse surround speakers for movie soundtracks, and a direct radiator type surround speaker for multi-channel music surround.

Excellent Receiver. I love it. I use it mostly for Music and DVD_Video (music DVDs).

Denon AVR-3300
Nice features. Clean and dynamic sound (compared to my Denon AVR-1700). But the fan system was defective (came on during quiet passages and had a sqeaky bearing).

Denon AVR-3300
I liked the sound a lot. It was so much better than my old onkio (about same price range 5 years ago. I hated to change it for an other brand but this machiene humed so much that there were times that I wanted to switch it of to get rid of the humming. It was the reciever itself that hummed. And the second one did the same. No I own a Rotel 965. It sounds even better and no hums. The controls of the denon were better though.

Denon AVR-3300
Great buy! Exceptional value!

However, a few draw backs:
1. GETS VERY HOT!!!! I had to install fans.
2. Only one digital coax input.
3. Remote.
4. My first one was defective and I had to exchange it.

Denon AVR-3300
well built and solid a/v receiver. The Denon does have a mono movie (dsp) and 5 channel stereo. All though the denon lacks two features an a/v input on front of the receiver and a digital output. It does make up for it in performance. Crank it up!!!!!!

Denon AVR-3300
Great sound, very flexible, lots of jacks. With a good unit, I have not found any limitations.

Unfortunately, my first unit was not so good; the LFE output was very weak initially, and then the system died completely. Fortunately I had purchased from Magnolia locally (great guys), and simply swapped it out. The new unit is excellent in all respects.

Downsides: Setting the system up requires it be connected to a video monitor (tv), but the menues are then very easy to follow. The remote is an ergonomic nightmare, but it's a complex receiver. There are insufficient analog jacks (in and out) for my purposes, but it does sport more than any other receiver within 50% of the price. The S-Video and Composite signals are both switched, but are kept separate, so my laserdisc (composite-only) signal requires a different video jack on th monitor than the S-VHS and the DVD decks. No station-labelling or RDS (or I haven't found it.)

Upsides: Plenty of power and depth. Very easy to configure once the video monitor is connected. Extreme video and audio flexibility; any type of source (dual analog RCA, coax-digital, or optical-digital) can be configured for almost any device, in any order. All sorts of video inputs (composite, component, S-Video) and audio inputs.

Definitely a great system.

Denon AVR-3300
Excellent receiver - sound is very smooth. One minor complaint is the lack of an RF demodulator for the AC-3 output from my Laser Disk player. Highly recommended.

Denon AVR-3300
I owned the Yamaha RX-V995 for a few days before trading it in for the Denon AVR-3300. The sound is much better and because I listen to a lot of music, the 5 channel stereo makes all the difference. It also sounds better in HT. For a receiver under $1000, this seems to be the best choice.
