Excellent audio quality, I agree with a previous post about combining with the RB985 MkII. For less than the list price of a Denon 5700 you get, in my opinion, better sound although you don't get as many features as the 5700,I use the combination for music (50-60%) and movies (40-50%) and I am very pleased with its ability to drive my PSB Goldi left and right wich are a tough load for most amps.

Very excellent sound!!! Programming is not very straight forward to say the least. You have to program the unit on the TV which is ok but then you need both hands and eyes to find the correct buttons to push. The volume knob makes some static sounds and hangs up every once in a while. However, if you are driven wanting the sound to feel like you are really there, buy this unit over the Sony processor! The difference is amazing!!!! The Sony sounds flat compressed when compared to the Rotel.

It's at the time of writing (29th of march) not out yet, but this is a processor to be reckoned with. If it's sound is as good as the Rotel RSP-980, it's a bargain. Important to note is that it has a DB25 input for future surround formats such as DVD-Audio/Meridian Lossless Compression (MLP) and THX for all surround formats. Only thing is: it's not a modular design, so any updates on the existing surround formats cannot be implemented. The Acurus ACT3, Lexicon DC-1 and other modular design are more flexible in this regard.

I will give it an 8, because it will probably sound terrific, but it's difficult to upgrade, so I won't give a 9 (a 10 I will never give to equipment).
