JVC RX-1024VBK
For the price and features...who can beat it? I know we are talking about a JVC unit, but wow! I was considering getting a Denon AVR 95, Denon AVR 3300, or a Yamaha RX-V995. I researched for what seemed like forever to end up coming back to the JVC. I helped my father-in-law purchase his first Dolby Digital receiver which was a JVC 880 ? I had the privalege of setting it up and listening to it for about three months. I was very impressed with this unit, which lead me to my decision to try the JVC RX-1024VBK. The onscreen function is very easy to use, and the sound is great! I am using it to power 4 B&W DM602S2 and one B&W LCR6S2 speakers. Needless to say it sounds great! The SVHS switching is awesome. All in all, I have no complaints. I found the Denon to be a little pricy due to the lack of extras. The Yamaha's remote was a nightmare to use. (I love working with complicated gadgets, but this monster is all in all another story!) I know what some of you might be thinking...quality sound costs money. No way,...or at least not anymore. Save some money on the receiver and spend it where you will hear the difference...speakers! By the way, I purchased my JVC through a friend wholesale and paid $550, which is the same price I would have paid for the Denon AVR-95. Good luck with your choices! If someone out there can tell me where I made a mistake, please feel free to email me. I am in the market to purchase another receiver and would love the info!
