wish that It had a few more pre sets on the equaliser, other than that, this is a great receiver

plenty of power and built like a tank.

JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!!!

I should have known better... This was my first experience with DD so I thought it was great. Well, DD sounded great but I had to set the volume at about 75% to get "normal" levels.

Well, it just crapped out on me after a year and a half. The unit would get pretty hot and looking inside there are several parts that have literally melted! Paid $299 for it so I can't complain too much. Call it a warmup for a proper receiver.

Don't buy if you are serious about HT!

Man, this is most awesome reciever in the world. I had a $ 13,000 Krell System, but traded it straight up when I heard the aiwa system. I am so thankful that I will never have to buy another reciever for the rest of my life.

I bought mine for 229 bucks from a pawn shop and my Pioneer rack sytem blows it away. I have two 16" in the boxes. My little Boss sounds better....Ended up trading it for an RCA unit which rocks.

Not too much to say about this cheapie. Picked it up at a local retailer for $249, the cheapest receiver with ac3 decoding onboard. Well, it sounds like crap. The sound is distorted, the graphic equalizer sucks, the sound effects for the DSP are boring. Only good thing about it is the multi-remote, which is pretty limited in function anyways.
If you must have an AC-3 receiver for under $250, I suppose this is your only choice. As for me, it's going back.

man, can't believe these people dissing the receiver cuz it sounds like crap. Hello, people. AC-3. $250. Of course it's going to sound like crap. You want a Yamaha, pay for one. If you don't -- wise the #@%! up and use this box for the one hi-fi capability it has -- the AC-3 preamp. Get some balls, open the box up, solder some silver wire in the right place, and run it to an amp of some *decent* quality.
