Harman Kardon AVR 80 THX
I'm not totally thrilled by this over priced hunk of distorting meatal, my old Kenwood AC-1 based reciver will blow this peice away. The only reason I even give this unit a 6 is due to the variable wattage output for F,C,R speakers other than that it is overhyped and a big no no. Oh yea on another note BOSE acustocrap suck when playing anything but movies, you put a tiny little speaker on a really bassy song and kiss BOSE goodbuy.

Harman Kardon AVR 80 THX
I have this receiver and the Harmon Kardon AC3 processor. The combo sounds crystal clear and precise with my Bose Acoustimax speakers. I highly recomend this unit to everyone.

Harman Kardon AVR 80 THX
This is a great receiver! I originally bought it because I found a great deal on it, (I wanted the AVR 25mkII), but have come to realize that I was indeed a lucky guy. I currently have it running a matched set of (5) polk audio RT-7's and a powered Pinnacle Digital 250 sub. My home theater room is approximately 24'x22' and this is probably more power than I really need. Forget the Pioneers and Sonys of the world with their "power ratings". I have managed to crank this receiver all the way on all types of music and movie clips and have never heard my speakers "clip" or cut out. (I guess that probably speaks well of the speakers too.) The only complaints are from the windows in the basement that want to vibrate out of their casings. The only complaint that I have is that the antenna strength seems to lack over my previous Yamaha receiver. Also the inability to turn the unit on from the remote unless you use the remote to power it off. (I do not understand the hard off power feature I suppose). I plan on having this unit for quite a while, until I can afford a nicer listening room. Even then I will probably just buy a separate amp and continue to run thesame head unit. A definite must buy.

Harman Kardon AVR 80 THX
I got one for $525 "B" goods mailorder. I have never regretted this purchase as I have others (few). I would give it an 10 but there are a couple of issues that hold it back. 1. No phono input 2. no way to bypass the 80hz x-over (Its THX). the sound, power and build are A-1.

Harman Kardon AVR 80 THX
I have the Harman Kardon AVR 80 II THX. I find that the sound quality and features far surpass my previous HT Receivers. The Sony STR-DE 511/515/705 and Technics SA-AX72. I also have the Technics Digital Decoder SH-AC500D. I think it is a excellent receiver and a plus to my system!

Excellent home theater performer with loads of power. Bit bright on stereo music. Currently being discontinued and some major bargains can be had on this unit.

Harman Kardon AVR 80 THX
Very good. The digital potentiometer creates a "ticking" sound for every step (dB). Spend more money on volume controls, Harmon!
