The Denon AVR 2400 Is the best reciver I have ever seen or heard I work in a repair shop so I have seen A lot but nutin like the Denon AVR 2400 The only thing It lacks is inputs because I have a big system that becomes a problem.
I get now Distortion or clipping. For a reciver of this sixe you need bigger speakers I am using 4 way 15s sounds great That is my apinon

Got the AVR-2400 from UBID Online Auctions for only $279! Brand New, original packaging, unopened, and with full warranty, so even if it wasn't a high quality product, I still got an amazing deal! I have mine hooked up to the Mirage AVS-500 home theater speakers, and a Mirage PS-8 Subwoofer. It sounds awesome! I have not noticed any mid or treble issues, perhaps it is because my speakers really pickup on this range well?! I do notice that the bass response is not a "punchy" as one would expect, but for Home Theater usage it does the trick. Like the fact that the 6 channel external input allows for multiple sound formats (I use the AC-3 decoder in my Toshiba SD-3109 DVD Player). Highly Recomended, especially if you can find it for under $400.

I really enjoy the clean clear sound I get out of the 2400. I am using a velodyne VA-1215 sub and NHT super one speakers. I find that the Technics SH-300AC AC3 decoder works well with it. The Denon has better pro-logic sound than the Technics however. I picked up this recevier on closeout for an un-heard-of price of $200 at RC Willey's here in Utah. To get a receiver of this quality with 4 S-Video inputs and good build quality (weight is 30 lbs) is pretty amazing. If you can wait, you can usually save. For price/performance ratio, I'd give it a 10. Totally blows away anything <$500.

I myself really don't like the sound of Denon receivers. They tend to lack in the midrange and treble field. They sound kinda unrealistic and on music they make things sound flat and not full of life. But when I heard this one, it kinda raised my hopes. This receiver has better treble than others but the midrange still lacks. I am a proud owner of a Yamaha RX-V2092, RX-V793, and DSP-A1. They all sound great. The 793 for the price is superb. The DENON sound good and everything but 1 thing is you can NOT call it superstore crap. Sony you can call superstore crap but the Denon sound alot better than Sony receivers. Although I would rather get the RX-V592 which has the same sticker price as the AVR-2400.

Denon AVR-2400
Denon receivers as a whole lack realistic bass punch and sound like very cheap receivers. I don't know why anyone would pay a quality receiver price when these things sound like superstore rejects. Buy something else, you'll get a better amplifier circuit to give you some real bass punch and dynamics that you'll be missing if you buy this receiver.

Denon AVR-2400
I took this receiver home and tested it out for a week. I really like the way it sounds and it drove my Klipsch 10.5 floor standing speakers real well. The base is not as well defined as others I have listened to but the mids and highs were very clean. I took it back and have decided to go with the Denon AVR 3200 because of the dolby digital for only about $250 more. That is the only reason not to give it a higher score. I got price quotes from a lot of mail order places for $499 for the 2400. You could probably negotiate down. I have got quotes from $760 to $850 for the 3200, mail order. The 3200 has more power (85 watts as opposed to 75 watts), RF demodulator and plenty of inputs and outputs. The biggest thing is the ability to upgrade in the future to DTS or anything else in the future with the 3200 yet still have dolby digital on board.
