I have a question. I currently own a cp1plus and am looking to upgrade to the dc-1 or 2 with thx/dd. Have only heard the dc-1 which sounds great. The dc-2 is about $500 more but not sure if features/quality worth the extra money right now. Would like to hook up panasonic dvd a310 possibly. Any comments?

Lexicon DC-1
A marvelous Home Theater decoder/pre-amp! I have had the DC-1 (w/THX/DD/DTS) in my system for almost a year now and I am still awed by the effects and ambiance that this unit conveys. It can be subtle - I have Martin Logan ReQuest's that unveil all the clarity and detail and warmth that the Lexicon can throw at them. And it can be brutal - running Dolby Digital in Logic 7 mode with all full range spkrs and a sub will give you a new understanding of the Theater in Home Theater. Truly impressive and a sound quality that is definitely worth it's price. Only gripe (very very minor) is that the DC-1 could be a tad bit warmer and natural in 2 channel stereo (CD's, Tuner, etc), but it is such a subtle gripe that it is easily outshined by the DC-1's many other talents. Definitely deserving of a 10.

Wonderful sound. Especially after I moved from 5 to 7 speakers. Logic 7 with Dolby Digital gives great sound.

Only limit that I have enountered is the number of S-Video inputs and no future component video switching. You have to be creative to hook up a system with LD, DVD, DSS and VCR. But it can be done. Hopefully these will be addressed in a future model.

DC-1 is an excellent unit however there is no exact way to set it up. It is very easy to get the setup wrong leading to a bad sounding DC1

Lexicon DC-1
Excellent piece with tremendous flexibility (upgraded from a Denon AVR-1010). The Logic 7 modes are fantastic for both music and theater. DC-1 is sensitive to the lightest of violins and voices and can deliver full-sounding dynamic range in the loudest of movie scenes.

Lexicon DC-1
Does everything extremely well. Easy to use. Sound can be customized to your hearts content. I'm hooked on logic seven mode which needs seven speakers plus subwoofer. DTS music CD's are great. Only critism is sub cross over points dont go below 80Hz for full range mains (in other words full range speakers have info below 80Hz cut off and re routed to sub). That's a nit pickin critism cause everything else is perfect.
