Description:Tweeter

The 1-inch metal dome tweeter uses a large magnet,

vented pole, reinforced rear chamber to allow low

resonance frequency and a wide bandwidth. The result is

high frequency reproduction of great clarity and realism.



Woofer

The 6.5 inch woofer employs a very rigid aluminum

diaphrgam to eliminate cone break up and unwanted

energy storage. A special short coil/long gap magnet

system is used for extremely low distortion and improved

mid-frequency performance, critical in a two-way system.

A copper pole sleeve maintains a stable magnetic field

and the driver employs two magnets with a total weight

of 2.4 pounds. In conjunction with the bass radiator,

which eliminates bass port resonances and noise, the

CS1.5's woofer produces uncommonly clean and musical bass.

Very likely the cleanest, flatest speaker in this price range. Not recomended for low note fanatics. These speaker also are very revealing so may sound bright if you use them with mass market eletronics. With excelent build quality and a small footprint the 1.5 looks good with most decor. Very natural reproduction of the human voice. Use stands to get the tweeter to 36" or the band will seem to be a group of midgets (Sound Anchors makes ones specifically designed for the 1.5 but I haven't tried them) If you can afford the extra $1200 go for the Theil 2.3 as it provides more low end and better imaging with the same ridiculous clarity.
