But at f/4.8, stars on the outer 50% of the field have LOTS of seagulls. The old saying that you get what you pay for applies in this case. One other thing, this eyepiece is threaded for 48 mm filters, so my 2 inch Orion Ultrablock won't mount.


As I said in my review this eyepiece is not designed for fast (<f/7) telescopes.  It is very unrealistic to expect naglerlike performance in a widefield eyepiece that retails for less than $100.  That being said for people with slower scopes it can work quite beautifully and is well worth the money.  It should not be trashed and rated poorly because you expected it to perform in a setting for which it was not designed.  Other people who would use it properly might be turned off for no reason because of your poor rating.  It pays to do your homework before you buy, there are plenty of places to find out about all eyepieces that are sold today.
