This eyepiece is very well suited for use with an Short Tube (F5) 80mm refractor. It gives a full 4 degree field of view. The views of the moon, hyades, pleiades and terrestrial views are sharp, mostly flat with little astigmatism or chromatic aberration. The barrel is well made and substantial. Two well fitted rubber caps are provided. It accepts screw on filters.

Providing 75 to 90% of the performance of similar design eyepieces at a sixth or eighth of their price makes this eyepiece well worth consideration.

And, as always, dealing with Paul Rini is a pleasure.

One more observation;  in terms of price and quality, this eyepiece is right up there with the UO orthos.
